Development of a Context Aware User Interface for Decision Support Home Team’s Future Human Robot Interaction Operations

This project explores on-board AI that lets rescue robots interpret audio, images, and text right at the edge — giving remote operators faster, clearer, and more trustworthy insights when every second counts.

A chemical spill. A collapsed building. A robot rolls in where humans can't — but miles away, an operator drowns in raw sensor data while the clock ticks.

What if the robot could make sense of what it sees, hears, and reads — right on board? This project brings small language models to the edge: processing audio, images, and text directly on the machine, with no cloud detour. The result: faster answers, protected data, and reasoning the operator can actually follow.

Less cognitive load, more confident decisions — and a system portable enough to slot into simulators, patrol vehicles, and command-and-control platforms alike. Building the future-ready Home Team, one intelligent robot at a time.
